SUSTAINABILITY.POSITION SUMMARYThe Sr. Mechanical Project Developer
will develop solutions to the mechanical and automation needs of
our customers in the institutional, commercial, and federal
markets. This individual will be responsible for creating
consultative technical, financial, and practical mechanical
solutions. The role will include collaboration with multiple
resources to fulfill project objectives and deliverables. This
position is accountable for technical solution development, budget,
risk, and delivery in collaboration with the sales and operations
teams. The goal is to create a positive emotional experience for
every customer on every project.What you'll do:Coordinate visits to
customer project sites to investigate existing mechanical,
electrical, HVAC, plumbing and building automation systems and
document energy performance information, including utility data,
facility infrastructure drawings, etc.Work collaboratively with
sales and operations in the development, sale, risk management,
procurement and execution of projects (personnel, schedule,
sustainability, ROI, etc.)Assist engineering with design and
development activities in support of construction, operations, and
maintenance of customer project.Develop design concepts and other
written documentation concerning recommended new products and
technologies including accurate descriptions, savings potential,
cost estimates and back-up data to quantify the use of such
technologies.Coordinate with vendors and installation contractors
for feasibility and pricing verification of proposed project
modifications.Provide technical guidance throughout development,
construction, project commissioning, and operations, including
proposals, reports, cost estimates, and presentations.Participate
in client meetings and prepare technical presentations.What you'll
need to be successful:Ability to create and maintain relationships
with industry and customers at the highest level.Demonstrated
ability to analyze, quantify, qualify, and implement complex
technical solutions involving HVAC systems, Central Plants,
Plumbing, Electrical and Building Automation.Solid financial
planning and budget analysis to develop business case for customers
of Southland Industries.Advanced knowledge of project cost
estimating and accounting desired.Excellent technical presentation,
oral and written communication skills.Must be able and willing to
travel in local markets 25% of the time.Strong knowledge of HVAC,
electrical, building automation, lighting, water-use, metering, and
generation technologies.Ability to communicate with all levels of
engineering & management, including project management and field
trades.Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans.Competent
computer skills; MS Platform, Estimating, and Financial Cost
Accounting (COINS is a plus).What you bring to the table:15+ years
