Position Summary The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for
maintenance and repair of building systems and general maintenance
tasks in support of building operations at a large commercial
facility in Washington, DC. This role provides essential support to
the Engineering Department by demonstrating technical expertise in
electrical work and providing integral support in the repair,
maintenance, restoration, and replacement of various building
operational components.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Provide electrical repair and
maintenance services as directed by the Chief Engineer, Assistant
Chief Engineer, or designee. - 1. 1. Install, repair, and maintain
the following including but not limited to: 2. Lighting
(interior/exterior), devices, panels, feeders, breakers. 3.
Motors/VFDs, motor controls, starters, contactors. 4. Emergency
power transfer components, generator electrical interfaces. 5.
Troubleshoot using meters/test equipment. 6. Follow lockout/tagout,
arc flash and other safety practices as applicable. - Provide
repair and maintenance on all building systems including but not
limited to the following: (List below is included to align with CBA
task responsibility. Specific assignment will be in accordance with
employee’s CBA classification, qualifications, licensure, training,
and safety requirements.) - 1. 1. All fired or unfired pressure
vessels and vacuum systems. 2. All refrigeration and air
conditioning machinery and their associated equipment. 3. All
plumbing and piping including water, gas, heating, steam, and
sanitation systems. 4. All electrical appliances and fixtures
including lamping. 5. All emergency power equipment. 6. All
electric motors, generators, circuits, and switchgear. 7. All
machinery and equipment used in the production and for the health
and comfort of the Employer’s or client’s business and personnel.
8. All equipment under the supervision of the Chief Engineer. 9.
Energy management systems including all related software and
hardware in conjunction with or absence of third-party energy
management contracts. - Respond to service calls, tenant requests,
and work orders in a timely and professional manner. - Maintain
tools, materials, and equipment in safe and efficient operating
condition. - Support preventive maintenance and general facility
upkeep programs. - Adhere to all safety procedures and company
policies while performing assigned tasks. - Provide documentation
of completed work in CMMS or other reporting systems as required. -
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - Accredited training and certification as a
Journeyman Electrician. - Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant building
maintenance and/or electrical experience. - Demonstrated knowledge
of materials, methods, tools, and equipment used in electrical
service. - Possess working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E and other
relevant electrical codes. - Ability to read and interpret work
orders, plans, drawings, and equipment manuals. - Familiarity with
safe work practices, OSHA standards, and proper use of PPE. -
Strong troubleshooting, time-management, and customer service
skills. - Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a
fast-paced environment. - High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Work Conditions - Full-time, on-site role in Washington, DC. -
Standard schedule Monday–Friday, with potential for occasional
overtime or after-hours support as required. - Work may involve
standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and
using various hand and power tools.
