Unit: PACU / Same Day Surgery (Cost Code 70 SDS & PACU) Shift: 5x8
Days | Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (One late stay per week)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Start
Date: 2–3 weeks from offer Position Overview: Seeking an
experienced PACU RN for a 13-week contract. This role involves
Phase I and Phase II recovery in a fast-paced, multi-specialty
post-anesthesia care environment. Ideal candidates will have strong
PACU, SDS, and Ortho/Neuro experience. Unit Details: - Beds: 9 PACU
Bays, 16 Same-Day Surgery (SDS) - Ratios: - Phase 1: 1:2 - Phase 2
(SDS): 1:5 - EMR: Epic - Scrub Color: Navy Blue (not provided) -
Common Cases: All surgical cases except open heart; some ICU
patients; craniotomies occasionally stay in PACU - Weekend Call:
1x/month (Sat or Sun, 8a–8a) - Weeknight Call: One per week (8p–8a)
- Floating: To main unit as needed - Orientation: 3 shifts Required
Certifications: - BLS (AHA) - ACLS (AHA) - PALS (AHA) Experience
Requirements: - Minimum 2–3 years PACU experience - At least 2–3
previous travel assignments - Ortho/Neuro experience preferred
Other Notes: - No self-scheduling for travelers; block scheduling
allowed based on unit need - ICU patients recover in PACU during
business hours - Epic charting, titration of vasopressors/sedatives
required - RT and Hospitalist in-house 24/7 License: Active RN
license (compact accepted); willing to wait for state license Job
