Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization
in the DMV area, is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for our
Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (ICU) & Intermediate Care (IMC).
In this role, the successful candidate will oversee the clinical
and administrative operations of the cardiovascular ICU & IMC,
ensuring optimal patient care and adherence to high standards of
healthcare practice. The position involves leadership over nursing
staff, collaboration with medical staff, and the implementation of
patient care protocols directly aligned with MedStar Health's
commitment to excellence in a patient-first healthcare environment.
Manage daily operations of the cardiovascular ICU & IMC units,
ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and institutional
policies. Lead, direct, and evaluate nursing staff, promoting
professional development and high standards of nursing practice.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary medical teams to devise and
implement effective patient care plans. Maintain effective
communication between healthcare providers, patients, and their
families. Monitor patient care for quality and efficacy,
implementing improvements when necessary. Ensure adherence to
patient safety protocols and manage clinical resources efficiently.
Proven leadership and management skills Strong communication and
interpersonal skills In-depth knowledge of cardiovascular patient
care protocols Ability to manage high-stress situations effectively
Competency in healthcare technology and record-keeping Medical
Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Basic Life Support (BLS)
Certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Certification Certification in Cardiovascular Nursing (optional but
preferred)
