Job Description:

MedStar Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Pharmacist Evening to join our not-for-profit healthcare organization in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region. At MedStar Health, we prioritize patient-first health care services ranging from primary care to advanced surgeries. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the medication management process, providing pharmaceutical care to patients during evening hours, and supporting the healthcare team in various pharmacological services. Review, prepare, and dispense medications and prescriptions with a focus on accuracy and patient safety. Consult with physicians and healthcare providers on medication therapy and care plans. Monitor patient drug therapies and provide drug information and recommendations to medical staff. Supervise pharmacy technicians and other supporting staff in the pharmacy department. Assure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards. Respond to medication-related queries and concerns during evening shifts. Participate in clinical programs and help in maintaining records of the pharmacy’s operations. Strong knowledge of pharmacology and pharmaceutical therapies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems Ability to work independently and make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid and active Pharmacist licensure in the state of practice. Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) is preferred.
