General Public - G Job Duties Western State Hospital is seeking a
Full Time Primary Care Physician/Physician II. We are offering a
sign on bonus of up to $10,000. (Must be new to state service in
order to be eligible), competitive pay, and all the state benefits
including health insurance and retirement benefits. Western State
Hospital is a 302 bed, JCAHO accredited, state, adult (age 18 to
64) psychiatric hospital. Services include acute admissions,
psychosocial rehab, special programs for the deaf and a 2-bed
medical infirmary. We have onsite lab, plain film radiology,
physical therapy, and part-time dentist services. Duties include
provision of Primary Care services to patients at our facility with
active and chronic problems, clinical supervisions of nurse
practitioners and physician assistance, assistance to admissions
office with pre-screening of patients with complicated medical
histories and telephone call at nights and on weekends. This
position is eligible for: - retirement with cash match - life

Minimum Qualifications - completion of approved medical school and
residency in Family or Internal Medicine - license to practice
medicine in Virginia - broad medical knowledge and ability to
practice medicine with acutely and chronically ill patient
population - ability to provide training/supervision of medical,
