The museum, opened in 2006 and expanded in 2018, offers nearly 60,000 square feet of exhibition space to showcase its collection of more than 1300 works by 200 contemporary artists. With its expansion, Glenstone now has the ability to welcome 100,000 visitors each year, and admission is always free.Position OverviewThe Human Resources department at Glenstone is committed to a thriving, productive, collaborative, and inclusive culture at Glenstone. This means putting people first, empowering associates to excel and grow in their positions, maintaining and clearly communicating organizational policies and procedures, adapting to change and organizational growth, and serving as a resource to support the professional needs of the entire team at Glenstone.The HR Generalist joins a small but mighty department that works both collaboratively and independently in a variety of capacities to support all associates at Glenstone. This position is responsible for initiating and supporting HR-related duties and functions for a staff of approximately 200 associates. The successful candidate will love working with and supporting people, be creative and focused, and will be especially concerned with accuracy and discretion.The HR Generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities in the following functional areas: on-boarding, associate relations, benefits administration, performance management, policy implementation, employment law compliance, and training. This role will serve as an expert on our HRMS (UKG) and will use the system to automate HR processes. This role will also have leadership responsibilities for executing strategic plan tactics, associate events, and health & well-being initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesBenefits

  • Serve as liaison between benefits broker and associates.
  • Update brokers of new hires, terminations, and benefit changes.
  • Serve as a reliable resource for benefits-related associate questions and education.
  • Reconcile all invoices from benefits providers in a timely manner every month.
  • Conduct annual open enrollment meetings for medical benefits and FSA.
  • Manage associate leave program and properly document and submit required paperwork (personal leaves, parental leave, COVID-19 leave, FMLA, etc.)
  • Manage our tuition reimbursement and carpooling programs.
  • Serve as SmartBenefits (Metro) administrator.Administrative
    • Prepare and maintain personnel files for associates ensuring accuracy, consistency, compliance, and confidentiality.
    • Receive and track all new hire documentation including I-9s, confidentiality and employment agreements, and benefits enrollments.
    • Follow up on missing new hire documentation, benefits enrollments and/or other required information.
    • Maintain our associate handbook with updated policies.
    • Assist with communicating policies, procedures and making recommendations for change as needed.
    • Provide administrative and project support to the Director of HR, including regular maintenance and audits of the electronic and paper files.
    • Track and keep records of HR initiatives including health & well-being, performance reviews and merit increases, stay/exit interviews, and engagement and pulse surveys.
    • Maintain organizational chart and distribute to staff and new hires.Associate Relations
      • Conduct timely investigations of all associate relations matters, leading with empathy, confidentiality, compliance, and trust.
      • Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
      • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations conducted by the Director of HR.Associate Events/Health & Well-being
        • Lead associate events and Health & Well-being subgroups which include staff appreciation, holiday celebrations, and family events.
        • Create and adhere to the annual budget for all-staff events.
        • Create an annual survey to gather information needed to plan the next year of Health & Well-being activities.
        • Lead monthly Activity Challenges as part of the annual Health & Well-being program including communicating to staff, tracking participation, distributing results, and awarding prizes.
        • Coordinate and plan First Wednesday celebrations and birthday card distribution. Maintain and update birthday and anniversary lists for managers as new associates are hired.Recruiting/Onboarding
          • Facilitate bi-monthly new hire orientation and benefits training.
          • Manage onboarding schedule for new hires.
          • Conduct exit interviews including compiling quarterly summaries for distribution to required staff.
          • Analyze exit data, make recommendations, and implement retention strategies.Compliance/Policy
            • Distribute and maintain tracking of annual mandatory benefits notices, all-staff trainings, and federal and state employment posters.
            • Track and maintain compliance with OSHA including filing and posting Form 300.
            • Assist managers with Worker's Compensation filings and maintenance of paperwork.Required Qualifications
              • COVID-19 vaccination.
              • Current HRCI and/or SHRM professional certifications.
              • 3-5 years of related work experience working in an HR department.
              • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills (both orally and written), ethics, and cultural awareness.
              • Creative problem-solving skills, initiative, sound judgment, diplomacy, and discretion.
              • Excellent customer support skills.
              • Extreme attention to detail, with the ability to plan work tasks independently and proactively in advance.
              • Knowledge and proficiency in using the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio).
              • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
              • Demonstrated ability to be both self-directed and collaborative, as appropriate to the task or project.Preferred Qualifications
