Job Description:
At New Story Schools, we are devoted to enhancing the academic
and social abilities of children with special needs through
customized learning strategies. We are currently seeking a
compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our
team. This role is crucial in developing and implementing
personalized educational plans that cater to the individual
strengths and challenges of our students. By fostering a nurturing
and stimulating environment, you will play a direct role in making
a difference in the lives of our students. You will work alongside
skilled professionals who are committed to creating a supportive
and effective educational setting. Develop and execute
Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with
other educators and families to meet the needs of students. Assess
students' skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching
plans. Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students. Establish and
enforce rules for behavior and policies and procedures to maintain
order among students. Provide crisis intervention as needed, which
may involve restraining violent or potentially violent students.
Collaborate with parents, teachers, and administrators to ensure
the needs of students with disabilities are met. Utilize various
curriculum resources that support inclusive education. Monitor
children’s progression and adapt lessons to their needs and
interests. Strong understanding of special education law and
policies. Ability to develop and implement effective and innovative
teaching strategies. Exceptional interpersonal and communication
skills. Proficiency in managing behavioral and emotional issues.
Experience with various educational technologies. Medical Insurance
Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Valid Special
Education Teacher certification. Certification in Crisis Prevention
and Intervention training preferred.
